Built as a container vessel under yard No 66 by Astilleros y Fabricas Navales del Estado (AFNE), Rio Santiago for Empresa Lineas Maritimas Argentinas (ELMA).
06 August 1988 launched under the name ISLA SOLEDED, most probably named after the East Falkland Island, which in Argentine is known under the name Isla Soleded. One sister the ISLA GRAN MALVINA.
Tonnage 18,943 gross, 6,060 net, 24,427 dwt. Dim. 195.70 x 28.40 x 16.10m, draught 10m., length bpp 183m.
Powered by one AFNE-Sulzer diesel engine, 15,570 hp. manufactured by AFNE at Santiago, one propeller, speed ?
Fuel capacity 2,750m³
Loading/discharging gear, 4 – 36-tons, 1 – 5-ton and 1 – 6 ton cranes.
Could carry 1,226 TEU’s containers.
01 January 1989 completed.

The yard she was built on was founded on 15 June 1953 and is located on the south river of the Rio de la Plata, in the city of Ensenada.
Their high quality workforce made it one of the better known yards in Latin America, and many ships were built there for the Argentinean- and merchant navy and foreign owners around the world.
ISLA SOLEDAD was the last ship built for ELMA, and was used in the liner service from Argentine to Europe.
1998 Sold to Oceanstorm Shipping Ltd., Cyprus, renamed ELAN VITAL.
2000 Sold to Huazi & Ghosheh Co., Bahamas and renamed MAYSORA.
October 2000 conversion to a livestock carrier commenced by the yard Keppel Hitachi Zosen, Singapore, and the work was completed in January 2001, total cost of the conversion US$ 17.2 million.
Tonnage 33,400 gross, 11,477 net, 24,362 dwt.
Capacity to carry 85,000 sheep and 7,000 cattle.
09 February 2001 arrived at Perth, Australia to load her first load of live sheep.
Used mostly for the cattle trade between Australia and New Zealand to the Middle East.
